# Requirements

You need a physical host, or an Azure DCsv3 or DCdsv3 VM, that meets these limits before you run [Quick Setup](/) or the Manual path.

- Ubuntu 22.04 or 24.04.
- 32 GB RAM minimum, 20 GB or more of swap. 64 GB RAM recommended.
- 512 GB SSD minimum. 1 TB NVMe recommended.
- Intel CPU with SGX through SPS. SGX through Intel ME does not work. AMD does not work.
- The machine must expose `/dev/sgx_enclave` and `/dev/sgx_provision`. The setup script already stops if those are missing.
- On a physical host, BIOS must expose SGX and DCAP. On Azure DCsv3 or DCdsv3, pick a Gen2 image. See [Boards](/operators/boards) for verified motherboards.
